8 days to a spectacular road trip to explore and taste the Mediterranean food style, and the unique wine that only Greece has! Traditional villages, traditional farms and traditional wineries are some of our stops during this trip.

Day 1: ATHENS

At your arrival, a private taxi with an executive assistant will wait for you at Athens International airport, holding a sign with your name on it. Meet and assist and transfer to your hotel. Check in at your hotel and the rest of the day is at your disposal for a first meeting with capital of Greece, Athens. Optional you can join one of the below tours.

Welcome to the birthplace of democracy, arts, science and philosophy of western civilization.  Home of Plato, Socrates, Pericles, Euripides, Sophocles, Aeschylus.  Athens is one of the world’s oldest cities. It’s recorded history spanning around 3.400 years and it is being inhabited since the 11th millennium B.C. E.  Today, under the shadow of Parthenon, the contemporary urban scenery of the sprawling city reflects its exciting history, its multi- cultural modern personality as well as the infrastructure and facilities. Service description: Explore different neighborhoods, ranging from working-class havens to boutique boulevards. Hear how Athens was transformed from a town into a modern city, all in the shadow of its own ancient glory. Immerse yourself in the world of Greek food. The smells and the range of products in specialty food shops and the bustle of open-air markets will all make your taste buds sing! Sample unique local delicacies, from small-batch olive oils and feta cheese to scrumptious Greek meze and bougatsa (cream-filled phyllo pastry).

  1. Athens By Night Coach tour with dinner & folklore show. Your evening begins with a short panoramic drive through the city center and on the slopes of the sacred hill you will be able to see, admire and take photos of the illuminated Acropolis. Then a pleasant walk through the narrow picturesque streets of Plaka, the old city, will bring you at a Typical Greek Tavern where you will enjoy your dinner following a floor show with live music and Greek Folk Dances in traditional costumes.

Inclusions: Transport by luxury air-conditioned bus, professional and licensed guide, hotel pick up / drop off service, dinner at a traditional restaurant in Plaka area.

Day 2: ATHENS

Breakfast at your hotel. For today we have arrange a wine tasting tour (wine and Retsina products) at Papagiannakos winery in Markopoulo, Mesogaia, Attica. Wine and grapes were always considered to be among the most important products of Ancient Athens. Local wine would travel across the then known world in the Attican amphorae; archaeological finds such as kylixes [drinking cups], craters and other vessels are proof of the Greek capital’s wine history and the unique viticultural tradition that dates thousands of years. Today, wine producers cultivate indigenous as well as imported varieties, they use their know-how and they keep experimenting in order to produce top quality wines that have earned Attica a fine position in the international wine map.

Service description: Just a few klm away from the center of Athens, the winery provides anyone wishing to be initiated in the alluring world of wine with a perfect outing. Visitors are taken on specialized tours of the Winery and the cellars, with the tasting of the full range of products. And one last stop at the Winery shop, for an after taste that will long linger. The duration of above tour is approximately 4 hours and starts from your hotel at the morning time. During above tour you will have all transfers luxury air-conditioned bus, professional and licensed guide, hotel pick up / drop off service, product sampling and specialized tour of the Winery and the cellars. On the evening the day is at your disposal. 

Day 3: ATHENS – TRIPOLI – NAFLPIO

Breakfast at your hotel. Then we depart with final destination Nafplio. First stop of our road trip will be at Spyropoulos winery at Tripoli or at Nemea Koutsodimos winery. In the winery visitors will experience specialized tours of their facilities with the tasting of the full range of products. Afterwards we continiue to our final destination for today, Nafplio. Arrival at our hotel at Nafplio. Rest of the day is at your disposal to explore and to get know the history of Nafplio city. 

Day 4: NAFPLIO

Breakfast at your hotel. Then will have our visit at Karonis distillery which is located in a privately area of Agia Paraskevi in Nafplion two minutes from the center of the town. The products made at Karonis are Ouzo, Tsipouro, and Masticha all distilled in the modern copper stills. During our visit at Karonis we learn all of the stages of the production of the company’s products first hand at their facilities and will have the opportunity to try and taste of their products! Last but not least check the Ouzo Museum with the tools, machinery, company papers dating back to 1880. After out today visit, rest o the day is at yours. 

Day 5: NAFPLIO – VYTINA VILLAGE – DIMITSANA VILLAGE

Breakfast at your hotel. Today we are leaving from Nafplio city and we are going to Dimitsana village, a traditional mountain village. During our road trip we will have a stop at Kalogris organic winery which is located at the village of Kapsia, Mantineia, at the foot of the fir – covered Mainalo on the road to Vytina. Kalogris winery is the 1st certified visiting winery of the Peloponnese and the only one so far in Mantineia, by Greek National Tourism Organisation. The Kalogri Family produces all its wines with organic methods and promoting natural products, as the vinification is natural with native yeasts. In their 30 acres of privately owned vineyards, they produce 3 varieties. Moschofilero, Cabernet and Merlot. All places are visitable and with special interest. In the restored building of 1870, visitors are guided through the 147 year history of the family, while learning the modern involvement with organic farming and natural wines. They can see up close the aging of the wine in the underground cellars, enjoy the organic wines accompanied by village pies and rolls with petimezi, olives, cheese etc. During our stay at Kalogris winery there are plenty of tours that we are able to participate. The cellars and conversation about the history and the philosophy of organic farming, or the vineyards and conversation about the history and the philosophy of organic farming (production procedures, vineyards biodiversity, organic cultivation etc), or harvest of organic grapes and knowing about the production procedures. 

Our next stop is Vytina. There you can visit to the folklore museum. The folklore museum of Vytina, established in 1986, is on the main square of Vytina, accommodated in a traditional stone building. The museum is run under the auspices of the Vytina Cultural Association. Visitors will see the collection of the museum encompasses objects and tools drawn from the rich historical and social heritage of the region. The hundreds of exhibits are mostly items from the private collections of the two owners: a local teacher, author, folklorist and a barber, correspondent of the local newspaper. Or if you wish to relax at any café at the main square of Vytina village. We continue to final destination for today, Dimitsana village. Arrival at our hotel at Dimitsana and the rest of the day is at your disposal. Our proposal is to visit the Open – Air Water Power Museum. Museum opened to the public in the summer of 1997 and welcomes thousands of visitors each year. Research has located over one hundred water – powered installations in the vicinity of the Loussios River. These workshops bear witness to the technology used by the region’s traditional communities as early on as the 16th century in order to cover their basic needs. Rest of the day free for relax and knowing better this marvelous village. 

Day 6: DIMITSANA VILLAGE – KALAMATA

Breakfast at your hotel. Then we will visit of the Ben Olive Mill in Parapougki village, a family-owned olive estate and mill. Discover the variety of olive trees and products. At noon time we are leaving from Dimitsana to Kalamata. Arrive at our hotel at Kalamata early in the afternoon. Rest of the day is at your disposal. Take a stroll along the coastal road of Kalamata, taste local delicacies and relax in this beautiful city.

Day 7: KALAMATA – SPARTA – ATHENS

Breakfast at your hotel. Then we leave from Kalamata. We will stop for a visit to the museum of olive and Greek olive oil in Sparta. The Museum of the Olive and Greek Olive Oil, in Sparta (Peloponnese), transports you to the culture, history and technology of the olive and olive oil production in the Greek realm, from prehistoric times to the early 20th century. For each historical period you will discover the contribution of the olive and olive oil to the economy and to everyday life: nutrition, body care, but also now outdated uses, such as lighting. You will also see how the olive acquires a symbolic dimension in the mythology, religion, the manners and customs of the Greeks. After our visit ends, we have some free time at Sparta city for rest. We continue our tour back to Athens. Arrival at Athens and transfer to our hotel. Rest of the day at your disposal for rest and further exploration of Athens city. 

Day 8: ATHENS 

Breakfast at our hotel. Free time till the appointed time will have private transfer to Athens International airport to pick your flight back home.
